Notable Works & Achievements
Narragansett Beer
My marketing career began over 15 years ago, when I knocked on the door of Narragansett Beer’s offices in Providence, RI. There was barely any furniture in the office, and the production was all in Rochester, NY. I quickly progressed from intern to managing a promotions team and a $100,000 annual marketing budget, planning and implementing marketing strategies through digital and traditional media, consumer experiences, and sales team support. Through my resourcefulness in managing the team’s marketing efforts, as well as distribution expansion, we grew annual revenue from around $1M at my start to approximately $12M at the time of my departure 8 years later. To qualify my efforts there, just take a look at their current digital media presence I helped to grow, where they’re still implementing strategies I developed as well as creative I produced, such as this video.
NAIL Communications
After completing my MBA, I took an opportunity at a local advertising agency called NAIL Communications. I was able to apply both my research and analytical skills to effectively achieve my client's goals of sales growth, lead generation, and brand awareness through planning and implementing digital media strategies. More specifically, my efforts contributed to clients such as Lightlife Foods achieving average annual sales growth of 15% in the vegan and vegetarian categories. Through sales funnel analysis and optimization, I also helped create a digital brand strategy for Brown University’s School of Professional Studies that contributed to a 20% increase in student inquiries with a 40% reduction in costs. That also resulted in increased business for NAIL year-over-year with them.
Keep Me Conscious
Since I believe that personal passions play a powerful role in defining who we are, I should include my music career here. While I’ve played, produced, recorded, and written countless songs since my youth, Keep Me Conscious was the band that gained the most traction. I often credit my music with guiding me to a marketing career. My music background has certainly helped create content, engage an audience, and drive demand. The most definitive example is this radio jingle I wrote and produced. Music can make or break a campaign, and with my ear for a good fit, it’s helped foster success for several campaigns.
Elevated Craft
I worked with Elevated Craft to develop a digital campaign that would drive demand for their innovative flagship product, the Elevated Craft Hybrid Cocktail Shaker. The product launch was set up as a crowdfunding campaign on the sites Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. We began hyping the launch with a brand video that told the story of how the shaker was developed and the features and benefits customers would get with it. We used that video to drive traffic to a landing page and convert them to email leads to build our following. We then used the following for the initial launch to drive pre-orders and eventually grow the following for increased sales. It was a huge success from day one and continues to be met with overwhelming support. We raised over $2.5M in pre-orders through over 29,000 backers and delivered over 50,000 units. We then moved all orders from IndieGoGo to a fully optimized Shopify e-commerce store. Using a similar digital campaign strategy with content and landing page optimization, we continued with successful sales at an annual growth rate of 20%. This helped spearhead new product launches for the future.
Basil & Bunny
Founded a fast-casual restaurant concept that’s 100% plant-based. Recruited, trained, and managed FOH and BOH staff. Designed a menu with scratch recipes I created in our test kitchen that was approachable to the local market. Developed a business plan with research from the target audience and forecasting financials for annual growth. Planned marketing and branding strategy that would reach our target audience and achieve our sales and growth goals. Pivoted to an entirely digital strategy during the COVID pandemic, which contributed to a ROAS of 5x with a 10% margin. Achieved 50% year-over-year annual growth in sales.
